I think we all understand that advertising is an art form that when done properly almost hypnotizes people in different ways. Thus making them decide to buy their product. I have really liked the Lincoln commericals with Matthew McConaughey from the beginning but this latest one is interesting. I mean using a big star in the commercial is a master stroke but the camera angles, the attractive women. The masse shot at the pool table etc. If I wasn't brand loyal to the Japanese for sedans I would probably buy one.
Using huge stars like Sia in the Target jingle "Round round" was also bordering on mind control to a certain extent. I don't shop brick and mortar for Christmas but I do go into Target once a month or so to stock up on stuff the Safeway doesn't have and Sia starts in my head with that song.
Advertising has raised it game. Helped hugely by the internet and instant gratification of social media.
