That's because he's a child who doesn't know how to behave.

(Never had to, either.)

If this is what is primarily causing outrage, I’d say that the country is doing quite well.

I don't think Trump will bow before a foreign leader or promise them more flexibility after the election either.

Maybe a simple case of not knowing how to show respect to an older woman, because we know he does not respect younger women. If I am wrong, let me know please. You know about the younger women of course.

So you are saying he basically created another foreign policy ef'up by designating a member of a welcoming delegation as a target?

He really doesn't understand things.

To put it bluntly, a drunken male villager in Poland will never walk through a door before a woman even if he can barely stand. Just like a woman never refills her own wine/champagne/prosecco if there are men at the table, nor is she expected to ask for a refill as a man you're just expected to do it... If a woman joins or leaves your table men always get up, at least partially to show respect.

This buffoon WALKED IN FRONT OF THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND! Not that I have any respect for the monarchy, nor do I expect many average Americans to understand such subtleties unless they're well traveled. But this is your president who showed he doesn't have speck of culture. A speck....

No one is outraged, just shocked by the blatant simpleton running the USA. He's supposed to represent your country, and if he does that means the USA is full of simpletons without a gram of culture. Do you like that being your image?

It was gauche, but everyone knew that he is gauche. This won’t change anything.

The outrage.

I'm outraged.

This is outrageous.

As usual the video stops right before he realizes this and lets her take the lead. Almost every article points this out yet its 100% "proof" bla bla bla.

This sort of fake outrage does nothing but further the gap between everyone.

It certainly doesn’t win people over. But neither do vampires holding anti-Trump signs.

I don't know...Fox News couldn't stop talking about protocol and respect when Michelle Obama touched the Queen back in 2009.

The interesting thing is that they never made up their minds about protocol: when Obama bowed to the Japanese emperor, it was showing weakness. How dare he bow to the head of state of a foreign country? Protocol to bow to the emperor? Screw protocol!

When Mrs. Obama touched the Queen, she breached protocol. How dare she?

I guess we're back to the "screw protocol" phase.

And none of that Fox News stuff mattered. That’s exactly my point.

It’s also some serious whataboutism.

I think the more serious faux pas was to sit down after the meeting with the Queen with upcoming Pulitzer-price winner Piers Morgan and blabber about it like proud five year old so that the Daily Mail readership became privy to the conversation. Now that is a serius breach of protocol and I am sure one was not amused.

But after all - it is the The Donald and were we really expecting him to not behave like he did?

From snopes:

Trump, who appeared to have been urged by the Queen to walk ahead of her, spent a total of six seconds in front of the monarch before the two began walking side-by-side again, as can be seen in the footage below: https://youtu.be/rFsD5P0FSOg

Just as the inspection was about to begin, the Queen appeared to urge President Trump to go ahead of her.
President Trump walked ahead for a few paces, momentarily blocking the Queen from the view of some news cameras, giving rise to cherry-picked snapshots widely shared on social media and as evidence supporting criticism of Trump’s actions

It is considered rude to turn one’s back to the Queen, but this “rule” does not appear on the Royal Family’s list of “traditional forms” when greeting a royal.

While I can understand a certain level of deference to royal protocol - especially given our state of affairs as allies - I find it somewhat preposterous that a head of state of a former colony which started a revolution against the monarchy should be expected to adhere to the same norms as the brits themselves. Lets not forget that the monarchy is nothing more than a figure head anyways.

As for the brooches. Come on. Much ado about nothing. If she really intended to insult Trump she would have worn Obama's Brooch on the day she actually met with him face to face. Triggered again by a nothingburger.

He must be forgiven, as according to his Twitter it was the first time in 70 years that the Queen inspected the Guard of Honour. So clearly she had forgotten how it works:

'We met with the Queen, who is absolutely a terrific person, where she reviewed her Honour Guard for the first time in 70 years, they tell me."
