A 2017 Renault Fluence (sedan version of the Renault Megane III). Sweet car. Got it on a massive bargain, some $10,000 off sticker price.

not my car, my bosses, but i get it when he's out of town to run errands which is almost every day in Nevada. It's 2013 Tesla model s how time fly's. I can't believe it's 5 years old. The one he has in L.A. is the latest model with two batteries, but :( i'm not allowed to drive it. i don't have a California driver license so his insurance there won't add me as a driver.

my personal car is (sigh) a 2014 Toyota Corolla charcoal gray. I hate it because it's so common, especially when i'm looking for it in a massive parking lot. There dozens of them that look exactly like mine. I Don't have that problem with his Tesla.

That's my ride. I own a car, too, but I'm using my bikes much more than the car...

BMW 730Ld

Image

It's a "wolf in sheep skin", the following has been added/changed over the last year:

- New BMW M67D44 4.4 litre V8 diesel engine
- AGR and turbocharger pressure adaption to 450HP, 1000Nm torque
- New ZF 6HP32Z gearbox with software matching the engine output
- Ceramic brakes

Provides lots of space and comfort while cruising economically at 200km/h, top speed is 305km/h @ 4000rpm, which of course isn't very economical any more

I'm on a bicycle heaps too. For me getting to work, bicycle is quicker and cheaper. My work has excellent bicycle facilities and great lockers/showers and even provide towels. About 12km each way which is hardly anything.

I'll get a shot of it some time and put it on here.

My trusty bike:

Runs wonderfully smooth, slightly wider tyres give it some degree of offroading capabilities and the disc brakes are super effective. During summer semester I ride it to class, about 12kms, almost every day.

Nothing wrong with that - great transmission for the R. I went with the manual, I'm kinda wishing I went with the DSG myself.

You beat me by 2 km... It's always great to pass the cars when they are stuck inbound into town, isn't it? The funny thing is - if you watch closely you can see that 80 % of them have local licence plates and are filled with 1 (read: one) person. "You are not in a traffic jam, you are the traffic jam!"

The economics are great, too - not only saving on fuel but also on time, since there is no need to go to the gym anymore.

Who's the guy in your avatar - is it you?

That would be me riding from Vipiteno to Brixen. I cannot quite remember exactly which descent that was - but I think it might have been Penserjoch (Passo Pennes) - a very fast descent.

Here where I live the traffic jams are huge and it is impossible to get anywhere quickly during peak hour. Bicycle is the answer. And like you've observed, the cars are always single occupant, hardly ever two or more people.

The locals here say that Sydney is too steep or hilly to ride a bicycle to work. I just point to towns like Innsbruck or some other areas like Trentino where they are some very steep roads and the local people ride those with no great drama.

I drive a 320D, don't have a picture to hand, but it's essentially this model and colour:

Image

Pretty comfortable despite having run flats and very economical on long trips, even when I'm not hanging around. Not so great around town, so I am thinking of getting a city car too for shorter trips, but that would probably be automatic so my partner can drive it as well.

I also really want to buy a 'modern' classic soon, preferably to restore. I'm thinking Ford Capri, always loved these since I was a kid and a friend's parents had one:

Ah, the Ford Capri - brings back fond memories! Good choice! As a kid I was so mad at my dad that he didn't buy one. Needless to say that with a lot of kids at home this was the least suitable car for us. But which kid cares for these details? So we got a Ford Granada instead. (Basically, it was Cowley instead of Bodie and Doyle...)

I have fond memories of the Granada too - that was the family ride. I remember it being comfortable, probably because it had ridiculously squidgy suspension. Even as a ten year old kid I could make that thing bounce up and down.

If I go down the Capri route, it's going to have something serious under the hood. I mean it's like a barn in there, so plenty of room to fit a decent motor. The other option is to go Russian. I've always wanted one of the Niva 4x4s, or making a sleeper car out of a LADA Riva is also pretty tempting as they'd dirt cheap. I see a lot of oddball cars being on the driveway in future.

So my trusty suzuki (the car we keep in the village) finally died a couple months ago so I went on looking for a cheap dirt road runabout. After lots of looking around this has been the final choice.

Image

Hopefully it lasts as long as the old one. It's a late 90s vintage, reasonably few kms and generally pretty well kept.

Bouncy as hell on the road, but hopefully the trip to the village will be one of few.

Here´s my humble runabout, I call it ¨Le Petit Escargot¨

A 1999 Peugeot 206 1.6 with 90 of the finest french horsepower.

It was a rare find, as it was previously owned by an old lady who only did 25000km on it, yes, 25k! (now it has 10k more) so it is practically brand new,
Drives good, comfy ride, sips fuel, and easy to park, has a few dings and scratches from all the a-holes who don´t know how to park I use it moslty on weekends.

My company car, I've covered the logos.

Renault Tech Clio IV with a 90hp 1.5 diesel engine. It has a cargo compartment at the back instead of a bench.

In the technical terms, yes there are. While not as tall as any mountains in the west, they are super old, therefore smaller.

Just got my 2012 Mazdaspeed3 wrapped in Avery Dennison's Matte Metallic Apple Green! The car was originally white pearl, but I thought it was time for a change.
