Dallas father and son convicted of $17million health care fraud targeting American Airlines Employees

"A federal jury convicted a Dallas father and son of multiple counts of conspiracy, fraud and identity theft in a nearly $17 million health care scheme that targeted American Airlines employees. "

"The fraudulent claims were for hearing aids not needed by patients and often not delivered to them, prosecutors said. Family-owned Anderson Optical & Hearing, with locations in Arlington and Bedford, made claims totaling more than $27 million, and Blue Cross paid at least $16.7 million. "

10 years seems like too little for what they did. 15-20 and a repayment to the employees and insurance companies, but they may get away with serving 1/2 the time due to prison overcrowding, and they may go right back to what they were doing, but targeting other airline employees.

They typically serve 85% of sentences if they have good behavior and meet other demands.

They are nonviolent crimes and they have no prior history of offense so they will be released early.

I've never understood this. A poor schmuck can be down on his luck and rob a 7-11 for $50 and spend more time in prison while a white collar criminal can steal millions and just because he didn't use a weapon, he gets off relatively easy.

Recividism plays a part I suppose. I really don't think there are to many people robbing gas stations who missed a paycheck.

Early release should never be on the table for financial crime until the entirety of the proceeds have been repaid.

Are these the type of Scandinavian immigrant criminals Trump warned us about?

No wait, those were Mexicans working the fields for less than minimum, my bad. Still they should be deported back to Stockholm and be forced to eat fishballs for 20 years.
