As reported in the news, moves taken by America's Pence in South Korea during the winter Olympics bave sparked controversies within Korea.
Some criticized his action as impolite, but then there are also others while on the other hand there are people that think it's fine.
It seems like it's a continued and further divide between different fractions in South Korea on the issue of North Korea.
There are people including the current South Korea president who emphasis the prospect of unification and the common root and same ethnicity of people in both countries, they think the current situation can be resolved via talk. And then there are people including much of the opposition party that place emphasis on the threat from North Korea on the country.
While each issues would have slightly different breakdown in term of how many percent of people support which side. With recent events related to wonter Olympics, this different in altitude seems to be further deepening.
No matter how other allies would like to describe it, it is clear that the current South Korean president believe in talks over sanctions, and this different in believe have vreated divide between South Korean government and pther allies as well as within South Korea.
If anything, South Korea seems to be suffering from this hosting of the Winter Olympics game, and North Korea seems to be the winner here.
