Best android device ever produced till date especially on the software perspective. But it sure has its fair share of flaws though like the lack of 18:9 aspect ratio. If buying one, thou wont be disappointed :D

I do not have one, but I am in the market for a new phone, and the Pixel 2 is not even a choice for me. I currently have a Nexus 6P and it was great up until Android 8 was released. Now my 6P and others have reported the same thing, the battery only lasts about two hours when it is off the charger and light usage and it will shut off showing around 20-30% battery used. Since the phone is out of production, Google has no interest in fixing the problem they caused. So that put me into the market for a new phone and the Pixel 2 is not in the running because of this seeming lack of support or care to fix a problem that they caused. I am very interested in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 that will be announced later this month,

I love my Pixel2 XL. I upgraded from an LG G5 because I couldn't wait for the G7.

The camera is spectacular, the screen is great, the performance is fast and reliable, and stock Android 8 just looks and feels so good.

The only negatives I've found are the lack of wide-angle camera (I didn't realize how much I'd miss this from my G5 until I started using my G7). Additionally, I'm still not used to having a dedicated power button (the G5's combined fingerprint scanner and power button on the back was brilliant).

Why do you want the 18:9? I find it so incredibly annoying - videos play with black bars on the side (or the top/bottom cropped), cameras don't shoot that aspect ratio so photos have black bars, means I can't use the phone one-handed because it's too tall,, etc. 18:9 is the worst trend in phones right now.

Take advantage of YouTube for the many videos they have.

Sounds more like the battery itself is at fault rather than software. Probably past it's useful it's useful life (12-18mths) and/or now faulty, I suspect a replacement would resolve your issues.

I researched and thought long and hard about the Pixel 2 but in the end it lost out to the LG V30. I have no regrets. With most else being equal/similar the removable storage of the V30 won out over the newest version of Android and the promise of faster upadtes with the Pixel 2. I felt the Pixel 2XL was simply too large for consideration. Build quality of both Pixel models seemed inferior to the V30 as well. The V30 also managed the same screen size as the Pixel 2XL in a significantlty smaller unit. The V30 also retains the headphone jack while neither of the Pixel 2 models does.

If I was the only one with this issue, I would agree. But when everyone else who has this issue report the same thing, that it started when the 8.0 OTA was pushed out, then I think it is a software issue.

I cannot double quote on my tablet, but another reply mentioned the LG V30. I've looked that up and read reviews, seems nice. If this cold that seems to be brewing holds off, I'll go take a look at it tomorrow night. Still curious about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy announcement later this month.

I would consider looking at some iPhone X vs Pixel 2 videos. Both are great but personally I find the iPhone X is slightly better, except for selfies. My boss tested both and showed me some pictures and even though he went with the iPhone X, he showed some frontal camera pics on Pixel that were much better. So the idea is, if you like selfies, maybe go for Pixel 2 ;)
