Trump had Roy Cohn, a combative, abrasive lawyer, as a friend and consultant.

Cohn was more than "a combative, abrasive lawyer", as Joe McCarthy's mouthpiece and Lawyer, Cohn had a key role in one of the darkest sagas in American history, the Communist witch hunt of the early 1950s, which destroyed so many peoples lives for the sole purpose of putting McCarthy's name in the headlines. In the end, McCarthy was censured by Senate vote, and Cohn slithered away to later become Trump's mentor.

Just finished the book. Most of the information provided was common knowledge if one follows politics. Bannon inside were very interesting. The bottom line is this is the most inept White House in my lifetime ( end of Truman) which results in getting nothing done. No wonder the rest of the world is losing respect for the United States.. Apparently one million hardback copies of Fire and Fury have been sold.

Thank you for reminding me of that.

Reading further in Kranish/Fisher, there are more and more examples of Trump being just an... asshole. Many people have a story of how Trump cheats at golf.

And a disagreement over a consultant fee, whether it should be 7 or 8 million dollars?

They agree on a coin toss. But then, Trump throws the coin on the desk, which then falls behind the desk - and Trump scurries around to grab it and say "7 million".

On purpose, I'll finish Kranish/Fisher before moving on to the Wolff book.

Wild.... pretty scary....

Some talk about the "deep state" but here we see the "deep money/corporations/business" is also to be feared.
