Unless it is fully privatized and the new management has the right to suck any employee it deems unfit no matter which politician's cousin or niece he or she is it won't do any noticeable difference.

When the process started AI had $6.5B debt, now $8.6B debt, including $580 Million for 2x VVIP transport planes.
- Indigo is the only entity give a letter of intent.
- Tata is all talk even though GoI did change rules to favor Tatas until now.

Put yourself in buyer's shoes and ask two questions,
1) Any sincere owner who wants to privatize would add $2.1Billion additional debt after announcing the plan?
2) What % of $8.5 debt need to be reassigned to taxpayers for you to buy AI.

This is a typical Indian Government approach, talk and deeds don't match. AI's fundamental issue is debt, and there is no end to taking on additional debt.

You can take a body off life support, but if the poison is still inside it'll die in pretty short order.

AI needs a HUGE campaign of what Donald Trump would call draining the swamp. Anyone who cannot justify their job, goes. Cost cutting all round. The poison needs to be drained before it kills the patient. Next, recruit the best and brightest from outside AI to rebuild it. India has plenty of trained management staff, let's see what they can do. New, Bright ideas.
