Help with Toronto Hotel

Tue Oct 24, 2017 7:26 pm

I will be traveling to Toronto in June for vacation and looking for a couple of recommendations for hotels that would be near the Gay nightlight/part of town.
Any suggestions?

The Holiday Inn Toronto downtown centre, on carlton street, is very close to everything, including Church St...

I stayed at the Bond Place Hotel, had no complaints - its at the cheaper end of the spectrum but was comfortable.

Courtyard by Marriott a block from Church St

Also options are the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville, Comfort Inn Downtown Toronto, and a little further and a lot more money the Four Seasons.

On my last trip to Toronto (about a year and a bit ago), my son and I stayed at the InterContinental Toronto Centre, and found it to be very pleasant. Nice room, decent food (at breakfast, all other meals were "adventures"), attentive staff.

There was a pretty solid set of options for fun and merriment nearby, although I'll admit that I was not looking into whether it was gay lifestyle-focused or not.

Only surprise for me was the remarkable number of people who were smoking - I never expected that!

If you want to be in the Village that is probably your best option. I go every year for Toronto PRIDE in June and it books up early so depending on your dates maybe look into that one sooner rather than later. There are a lot of others nearby however the Chelsea Hotel is popular with people who want to be near The Village, its a short walk away. There are some others near by such as the Comfort Hotel Downtown, Town Inn Suites and another Marriott on Bloor all within a 10 minute walk.

Courtyard Yonge and College, northstar has it right (great screenname BTW)

Ryanrap hope you have a great trip to Toronto (used to live there), if you’re ever in Houston (moved back home), let me know. Houston is so lucky to be on the Sunset Limited route ... 2 great cities no matter which way you turn (San Antonio and New Orleans).

If you have the funds, The Ivy is great and right where you want to be.

Zero complaints from here for the Comfort Hotel at Church & Yonge. Plus if you plan on getting down and dirty with the locals, they don't need card key access for the elevators.

You know, just sayin'...

Also, if you're going for Pride. Book now. Don't wait. Don't sit and twiddle your thumbs. Just book.
