It really is fascinating watching the "family values" crowd contort themselves in death-defying feats of mental gymnastics in order to justify putting an admitted sexual predator in the White House.

Will it cause a long term change To some extent, yes, but it will still continue at somewhat less levels where powerful people will take advantage of huge numbers of people seeking fame and fortune working in highly competitive businesses like entertainment and media. Social media (Twitter, Facebook) has also had a major part in the outings and warnings of sexual predators.
I remain cautiously optimistic. Recall just last year Hollywood rewarded a serial sexual harasser with an Academy Award, meanwhile his brother and his brother's BFF have spoken about Weinstein without a hint of irony over the fact they've been mute on Casey's wrongdoing. In a very real sense, Hollywood has to rid itself of the dude-bro culture perpetuated by faux progressives who talk the talk, but gleefully look the other way. Still I think this has been a net positive in that these creeps are being increasingly exposed for who they are. It'll be nice when those who've been looking the other way all this time start doing something about the abuse they're party to.
I also think this has been a positive in the sense that it's exposed a lot of really awful people in society. Many of the posts in this thread alone are testament to the number of people, often men, who think victims of abuse are "just making it up."

For sure. That's always the case no matter what we're dealing with, but the vast majority of these, mostly female, victims are telling the truth, in this case and in general. Many (most?) of Weinstein's and Cosby's accusers have nothing to gain from coming forward since the statute of limitations has already run out on the crimes committed against them.
