No suitable equipment what to do?

Fri Sep 15, 2017 4:40 am

When there is not a suitable device to serve the work, this will cause a lot of difficulties for us. So how to do?

I had to be creative in the kitchen when it comes to equipment. For example, today, I made bread and someone killed my roller cap. I do not know who it is, I will not ask, but it is someone else I am. Yes, I made flour and I need to roll out. I imagine, a basic round cup would do and it did! I mean, it's not perfect, but it works for what I need it to do.

Above is the way I created, so what about you? How will you act when your device breaks down?

A hammer makes a good emergency screwdriver...

If you don't have a voltmeter handy, just touch the wire with the back of your hand, that way you won't get electrocuted if it is hot.

Wine bottle works perfectly, the longer and slimmer the better. .5l beer bottle too.

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

Or:

If it moves and it is not supposed to, get out the duct tape. If it does not move and it is supposed to, get out the WD-40.

I always make sure I have everything I need before I start a project. Whether it is bead work or baking or auto repair. I usually end up with three or four of the same tool because I can not find the first three I bought, so I end up buying another one and find the original(s) when I have finished the project.

Or if you're going deep into the woods and you don't have a compass, bring a cat along, cats always know the way back.

Fucking hex keys!

Also a fine tip, everything looks like a nail when all you have is a hammer.

Don't force it, get a bigger hammer.

uh, no - you'll still get "kissed", just that your muscles won't contract around the hot wire leading to something worse.........

Always hike at night so you can follow the moon. The moon always shines over Hollywood, according to Snoopy. He was a beagle scout, so I think that advice is pretty accurate.

Yeah, don't do that. You still get zapped and that zap can still kill you.

The reason S&R and 'professional' crews use the backs of hands to feel around, is so you don't 'lock on' when your muscles contract.
Basically, never touch a wire that may be live/hot.

I have some extra wood planks from my wood floor. They're very small and sturdy. I've used those over the years for all kinds of things, especially in my computers to build custom fasteners for watercooling elements. Much cheaper than buying new watercooling gear each time I change the motherboard.

A dremel is the most useful tool I own.
