To fair, her tweet does begin with: "I don't believe Hurricane Harvey is God's punishment for Houston electing a lesbian mayor....."
Sarcasm is lost on this forum...
But I do agree that her tweet was unnecessary, and divisive, which we don't need right now

I most certainly agree, enough of this bullshit from people like her both left and right. Enough is enough.

Well that's a nutty professor indeed !!!
Harris County was one the few Blue areas in the state, outside of South Texas, near the border, that did *not* vote in the majority for Trump. Why would an area that voted for Hillary be chosen to suffer for what the majority of the state voted for???
Maybe the Professor can get a job now with MSNBC??? He'd fit right in with some of the panels they assemble. CNN could be calling for his services soon too...

I agree, Ann Coulter is a joke. A sick joke.

There's that free speech the right is always whining about
MaverickM11 wrote:She didn't blame the hurricane on gays--unlike a solid majority of Trump's cabinet--but said it was more likely than blaming it on climate change. So it's sortuva a combination of anti science, anti LGBT nonsense from the right's favorite racist c u next Tuesday. She managed to capture everything hateful and backward about the republicans in one tweet. Huzzah!

This! She didn't blame it on Lesbians, but her tweet is sick, nonetheless. And let's be honest, those of you defending Coulter for politicizing this tragedy would have the pitchforks at the ready if it was a tweet from someone saying Houston deserved this disaster because of Texas' anti-science politics.

i've noticed that these hard right "Christians" have this obsession peeking in to other folks' bedrooms. Bit queer that.

Of course it's a dumb thing to say, but every time a conservative professor says something dumb and is fired, for the same reason, the same usual suspects whine about free speech being curtailed.

Flighty wrote:If you listen to NPR, it was basically a Republican hurricane, because it was undeniably (and unknowably) caused by Republican-led global warming. Listen as the anchor tugs each meteorologist back to attempted attribution of the hurricane to Republican policies. And they call this "informative" and "educated."
By the way, there is no statistical association (yet) between storms and global warming. The insinuations and undue weight given to this topic on NPR is textbook Fake News. The qualified expert guests try to gently inform the (English major?) hosts of this over and over. But it never ends, because mythology and scapegoating are so necessary.
Hmm. Don’t see much denial of @NOAA climate scientists who have predicted Hurricane Harvey’s devastating path into Texas.
