Window Tint Advise

Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:50 pm

I am looking to get the windows tinted on my 2014 Mercedes. I have gotten so many different opinions and there is not much information on the web. I have been looking at Nano Ceramic tints, and a 3M Crystaline tint as well. Has anyone had any experience with tinting windows? I want a tint that will keep offer maximum heat reduction and something that will look good and last.

Just make sure you determine what the legal limit for tint is for your state.

Have it professionally done by a reputable window tint/graphics establishment- they tend to use a higher quality tint that won't bubble or go purple down the road.

Use 3M tint, it's the only stuff I have ever put on my cars, in 30 years I have not had an issue.

Please make sure you observe the law. In the Netherlands, you can't do certain tints. Don't know the rules in my friendly eastern neighbors.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

All the big brands will be good...Llumar, 3M, SunTek, Solargard etc.

We are in tint land central here in Florida and 28pct in the fronts is the standard even though its a few pts lower than the law. Its the perfect balance of protection and good visibility.

Tinted windows are illegal in California, but I really dont care. Car gets too hot and lots of people have them anyway. After research I have decided to go with the 3M.
