Or how about "The Rock..it can only get better from here". The guy is actually likable and if Trump's base gets erect when he posts fake news about being a WWF wrestler slamming the media it's not hard to see people voting for the real thing. He might be the ultimate crossover candidate so I say go for it.

Oprah for President and the Rock for VP. Both are likable, which is a big step up from what we have now. What could be worse than what we ? They might actually try to help their fans, instead of the wealthy. Millions gambled on the Great Houdini in office now. Great at illusion and self promotion, nothing else. A Spin Doctor Extraordinaire. :spin: :spin:

Also, Kid Rock has apparently had enough irrelevancy and is running for Senate. If people inexperienced in politics with 'rock'-related names could kindly stay out of it, that would be great. Our democracy is in enough trouble as it is.

Yup, Trump has lowered the bar so much that literally anyone with a household name can now pretend to be President.

I'd be curious how a guy like the Rock would do as President. Sure, he could hardly do worse than Trump, but surely we can aim higher than this standard.
I have a hard time picturing someone like him with no experience or network within the government try to work constructively with a bunch of politicians who all might as well be from a different planet...

Not that I dislike the guy. He's a likable character with obvious compassion and a positive vibe. But one day we're going to have to realize that, like for any other high responsibility job, running the country requires someone who has experience, not someone we like watching on TV.

We're all shareholders in this massive business that is the government, and I don't see the shareholders of any other major businesses picking their CEOs from reality TV...

"Help wanted: President of the United States of America.
Possibly the highest responsibility job in the World, long hours, requires to deal with a multitude of subjects encompassing an entire spectrum of complex social, budgetary and political issues and an in depth understanding of convoluted international affairs. The life of millions will be at stake.

No education or experience required. Ethical conduct optional.

Apply within."

If Dwayne Johnson can become the highest paid actor in Hollywood, I see no reason why he can't be president. After all, Trump's already turned the presidency into a childish circus.

Can you imagine The Rock in a debate?? A Rock debate would be ten times more entertaining than a Trump debate!

"Caught between a rock and a hard place" if he's running against Trump seeking a second term.

:rotfl: Oh man, biggest belly laugh I have had in a while, thanks!

Johnson could join a growing list of celebrities who've held office
Sonny Bono
Ronald Reagan
Ah-Nold
Fred Thompson
Al Franken
Gopher from the Love Boat (don't remember his actual name)
Clint Eastwood
Donald Trump

Merely a potential candidacy thus far, but LPGA pro Natalie Gulbis is apparently interested in running for Nevada's 3rd District:

From the World of Sports:

Bill Bradley – U.S. Senator - Basketball
Jon Runyan – U.S. Congressman - Football
Dave Bing – Mayor of Detroit, MI - Basketball
Kevin Johnson – Mayor of Sacramento, CA - Basketball
Heath Shuler – U.S. Congressman - Football
Arnold Schwarzenegger – Governor of California - Mr. Universe
Steve Largent – U.S. Congressman - Football
Tom Osborne – U.S. Congressman - Football
J.C. Watts – U.S. Congressman - Football
Jim Bunning – U.S. Senator - Baseball
Jack Kemp – U.S. Congressman - Football
Ronald Reagan - President - Football (College)
Gerald Ford - President - Football (College)
Dwight Eisenhower - President - Football (College)

One might argue that not all of these attained "celebrity" status.

Can't be worse than what we have now but my question is why in the hell would they want that job? Obama and Trump yes they are both narcissists and egomaniacs so even tho they have more money than god they want that job.

I have always felt that a requirement for being a candidate for President is that one have completed at least term in office as a state governor.
