Re: Spanish official said Brexit would obligations to Gibraltar

Well its also going to depend on the outcome of the general election called today. However I think we'll see the Conservatives returned to parliment.

There wouldn't be a huge increase in car prices. Theres too many incentives for them to stay here, such as good avaliability of labour and cheap land, and also tax breaks. I'd be highly surprised if they moved. I would also be highly surprised if theres not some sort of tariff free deal on some items. The UK buys more from the EU than they export to them so if the EU politicians want to be spiteful and not let cars get imported to the UK tariff free they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

British cars: Some Japanese cards, such as Nissan and Honda, are made in the UK. At least when I buy one to be driven on Continental Europe, then it comes from the UK.

The Japanese made those factories in the UK in order to have better access to the EU market. Seen in the bright light of the back mirror it was of course a mistake, but they couldn't foresee Brexit.

Those factories won't evaporate overnight, and they will of course still serve at least the UK market. But sure other Japanese manufacturers won't repeat that mistake when they know that Brexit is approaching.

It's almost a given that there will be no restrictions for point-to-point flights between the UK and the EU. But if, say, Easyjet wants to keep operating intra-EU routes that's something else entirely.

I don't think anything is a given at this point. The UK and EU (negotiating on behalf of the EU27) will have to agree a new Air Services Agreement. I would not exclude one or the other party deciding to play hard ball. It is not for nothing that O'Leary and other CEOs are out expressing serious concern.

You're also forgetting German cars, Vauxhall and MINI, along with BMW's major 4 cylinder engine production unit Hams Hall, there's also truck and bus maunfacture as well as plenty of major component suppliers.

The prime ministers of Denmark, Ireland and The Netherlands want a good trade deal for both parties. So let's hope the cooler heads will prevail on both sides.
