Kim Jong Nam, half brother of Kim Jong Un assassinated

Tue Feb 14, 2017 2:33 pm

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's elder half brother Jong nam was killed today by female North Korean agents at Malaysia's KLIA.
Who ordered the killing? The bet is on the brutal Kim regime, likely Jong Un himself. Would be no surprise given that the latter had gotten rid of his uncle who was his de-facto second-in-command previously.

This is one of the two suspected killers:

And according to this tweet, both assassins are believed by Japanese media to be also dead now. Killed to silence to them? The plot thickens.

The brother didn't have much if anything at all to do with North Korea or its regime. He was pretty much cut off by them when he attempted to sneak into Japan in order to visit Disney World.

He was heir to the throne. Historically, rulers have been brutal towards their own families, seeing them as threats to their own survival. China supposedly had plans for Kim Jong Nam as a replacement for his brother if things got untenable.

Was.

He humiliated the entire ruling family by getting caught sneaking into Japan to visit Disney World of all places. He was a nobody after that.

Negative. Kim Jong Nam was only heir from 1994 to 2001.

You can say that as many times as you want but it doesn't change the fact that if Kim Jong Un was deposed or killed his half brother would provide an unbroken continuation of the Kim dynasty. That might not mean much to you but it is a powerful issue in a dynastic clan.

If Kim Jong-Un was already leader, and his half brother was clearly in exile, there was no need to see him killed. If anything, the North Korean elite would have wanted to keep him alive if it meant continuing the Kim dynasty. Kim Jong-Nam was outspoken, yes, but in a country where information does not penetrate, why would Kim Jong-Un be worried?

And let's not forget that Kim Jong-Un is not an only child. He might have been favored for succession but he does have another older half brother within the elite. I would be more concerned with those in my inner circle than those who are outside. At least I know where they stand whereas those in the inner circle may be posing and waiting for an opening.

Gentle point of correction: Japan does not have a Disney World. She got a Disneyland.

And pray tell why you think that the estranged son from Macau stands a better chance than his sister who is minister of propaganda, the other sister who was in charge of Kim Jong Ils personal security, countless of uncles and other related family plus the entire assortment of generals - all actively involved in running the state today? There is also that 3rd son of Kim Jong Il, as well as all the children and grandchildren of them all.

Sigh, I really don't like correcting people but I am certainly no fan of "alternative facts", so........
Kim Jong Un has another older brother but he's NOT a half brother. He and Kim Jong Chul are of the same father and mother, ie full brothers.
To clear it up for you in brief, Kim Jong Il had four wife/partners and five (known) offsprings. The first begets Jong Nam, the second gave birth to daughter Sul Song whilst the third spawned
two males (Jong Chul & Jong Un) and one female (Yo Jong). The fourth did not produce any.
You are welcome!

Because the estranged son from Macau might have become a front man for China if it ever came to that.

The Romans used that technique many times in many places.

We got the smoking gun, and it's a doozy: VX nerve agent.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/north-kor ... 22125.html

VX nerve agent is not something that's easily produced at home; in order to produce it safely without poisoning the attackers during production, it has to be done in a sophisticated lab. That means at least, state involvement in his assassination.

The production of it is banned by international treaty in most countries except for North Korea, which has never signed onto the Chemical Weapons Convention.

It is just obscene that a VX nerve agent was used to murder the relative of a despotic leader in a public place. Many others could have been exposed and died.
Some have speculated that this perverted attack was intentional, to put the fear of the 'dear leader' into those who work or represent NK to not even think of seeking asylum elsewhere or they will face a similar sick fate. Even their sponsor China is angry about this murder and cutting back their support of NK. I just hope someday very soon the military leaders of NK overthrow and murder Un and end the cult centered government they have.

.

That's usually not a concern of a despotic leader.

I think that VX use was sent as a message. Read extra links.

The diplomatic spat has reached another level as Malaysia expels the North Korean Ambassador.

Also as reported earlier, effective on Monday North Koreans will no longer enjoy visa-free visits.
