Yea I listen to a little country. In addition to the r&b, rap, rock and pop that I listen to.

Alabama,
Garth,
John Anderson,
Reba,
Toby Keith. That kinda stuff.

Nothing too twangy. I have a few select songs that I like.

I can't stand most of it, although I like Faith Hill, the Dixie Chicks, and Shania Twain.

I like country, but I don't like the "Nashville" sound, I like the "Austin" sound:

Robert Earl Keen
Willie Nelson
Jerry Jeff Walker
Pat Green
Jimmie Dale Gilmore
Jack Ingram
Lyle Lovett
Dixie Chicks
Merle Haggard
Johnny Cash

I do not like country.
To me it sounds like scratching on a chalkboard.

I like some of it...more the slower less twangy stuff. Ive produced a few country demos though. It kinda depends on the mood that i am in. I dont have a problem with listening to it..its great to slow dance to (the slow stuff once again..you will never ever see me line dancing)

Anybody seen those bumper stickers "Stop inbreeding, ban country music."? I giggled like a little girl when i saw that.

I'd rather listen to static than Country "music". I'd rather endure a habenero enema. Giving a rectal exam to an angry pit bull terrier would be exciting in comparison to listening to that trash.
I'm sorry, I just don't get what it is about that stuff that so many people like.
All of them are more or less the same. Indeed, I had a friend of mind blind test me with 10 male country songs, and 10 female country songs-all by different "artists". I couldn't tell a one of them apart. Every one of the male singers has that same nasal, shit-kickin' gravel voice that makes me want to vomit. Every one of the female singers had that same antibellum sound with the dripping Southern accent that could only be heard in a truck stop or in a rural diner deep in the heart of Georgia.
And all of the songs have the same sorrowful themes.
I have yet to hear a country song that couldn't fit into one of the following categories:

Missing a long lost love

Missing your love because you're a truck driver on the road 360 days a year

Drinking beer

Drinking beer and mourning a long lost love and/or your dog

Praying that you don't jacknife your truck in that blizzard because you are missing your wife/husband and in a hurry to get home

You miss your dad taking you fishing when you were a kid

No wonder beer and country music go hand in hand. If I had to endure that stuff, I'd have a drnking problem too.

Aside from the Dixie Chicks who have got to be the worst singers on the planet I like most country. Garth isn't exactly country a lot of the time, more just good moral stuff, but I like the stuff about the west and the free times and that, not much of the lovey-dovey crap.
