New C-class Mercedes, Wow!

Fri Jun 09, 2000 5:35 pm

I've been checking out the new C-class, what a beautiful car. I see this as a great looking sport sedan, hopefully when it's available in the U.S. MB of North
America will make it available with a standard transmission. It sure would be nice to see a CDI in the States, I've been driving a C-class CDI in Germany and that car moves. 180 indicated KPH is no problem.

WOW, say it again!!!
It looks fantastic, the new line makes it a MUST, and the sportier liveries are just terrific.
I have not driven any "C-NG", yet, but because of my work i have 35,000 kms experience on the previous "C". I've driven her in the city, where it is very comfortable, and in the highway, with indicated 180 Km/h, still has a good amount of power available. AND IT IS DIESEL!!! The best of her is how silent the room is, and how the turbine can be heard when pushing the gas pedal. It is the 250 TD, so does not have any gadgets as Direct injection, or variable turbine, or high pressure common rail. And even so it delivers (official) 150 HP, actual 170 HP DIN at the brake (about 180/185 HP SAE). The maximum "C-NG" diesel is the 270 CDi, and in this case, the number of 170 HP DIN is... official. How much must it be performing? I can't wait for a drive test    !!!

Hey, pal!
Do you remember your last offer of 777's directional main gear? I got the ones of the 747 body main. Thanks a lot!!!

Yes! All hail the new C- class! Good stuff man. I like how they just made it a smaller replica of the S class on the exterior. That way your not stuck with such a huge sedan and you've got more variety. I'm looking forward to seeing that baby

Hell ya,
I love the new C-Class!! I love how it combines much of the new S-Class with regular mid priced sedan specs. I think that Mercedes has truly built a great car as always, however I think that this C-Class will be a hit when it comes to the States.

I'm leafing through the sales brochure dreaming about this car and I've decided. I want a Obsidianschwarz C320 with the 6 speed gearbox, avantgard trim. Now to figure out a way to pay for it.
