I Need Your Advice

Mon May 01, 2000 6:14 am

Everybody here seems to love their cars as much as planes so here goes. I'm in the market for a good used car. Here is what I want:

2-door
2.2L engine (at least)
Something that looks sporty.
Not a Cavalier or Sunfire or hatchback (stuff like the Ford Probe is ok) not a Geo of any kind! Cavaliers and Sunfires are way too common where I live.

Any suggestions?

I have about $7,000 Cdn ($4,600 USD)

I would reccomend a Honda Accord coupe. It's a pretty cool car and has a lot of horse power.rrrrrrrr.

Also, try to look for one with manual transmision if you really want to "feel" the road.

Well, before my sister got her Miata, she had a '93 Grand Prix. It was 4500.00. and it was really cool. Two doors, CD player(factory), automatic, really sporty. I would looking for a Grand Prix, or a Grand Am. or somthing like that.

Before I got my Passat, I was looking at a '77 Firebird, $4000. I think it has more than a 2.2L engine   The best thing to do would be go to the used car sites (I don't really know of any) and type in your requirements and see what pops up.

One other point to concider is insurance. My sister was going to get a 96 Camro convertable, but since she was only fifteen at the time (we can drive at fourteen in SD) insurance would have been two hundred and fifty dollars a month alone, and she had even taken drivers ed. So you need to watch out for that too! But when she got her Grand Prix, it was only like eighty a month. but now that she has her Miata, it is really high again, since it's a sports car.
