Wonderful to see and great that they managed to save it from scrapping.

That’s All Brother was due to be stretched and re-engined when it was discovered to be a D-Day vet. It would not have been scrapped.

There are a number of D-Day vet C-47s flying in Normandy for the 75th anniversary.

And a couple that would like to be there....

A few friends of mine were able to participate in DDay memorial jumps along with Operation Market Garden jumps. Was a little jealous I never got the chance!

Heard two Dakotas over here on their way south (I'm near MAN) in the last few days. Sadly not visible due to cloud but confirmed by FR24. Got a brief view of a third today before it disappeared into cloud.
First two had routed via Prestwick but today's had come via Inverness.

I went to Duxford for a D-Day Dak photoshoot last night. Grand total of 23 Daks on the field - an impressive sight.

But to put it in context, 75 years ago, over 800 Daks were ferrying troops across to France.
