C17 Buzzes Brisbane Skyline

It apparently happened on Sep 29th..

It’s a cool sight! The hand-wringing about it is pretty silly. They’ve been doing it for years with F/A-18s, and F-111s before that. I don’t know how much truth there is to it, but the RAAF used to describe the F-111 runs down the river as a practice bombing run on Suncorp Stadium, minus the bombs of course. It was one of the more cool things about living in Brisbane.

NZ media posted it as a 9/11 type scare. Some of the AU spotters in a group i am in were having a field day with it.
