757's Parked at RIC

Sat Jul 07, 2018 4:02 pm

There are two all white 757's with Rolls engines parked near a hangar at RIC. There are no "N" numbers on them, just an American flag on the tail. Does anyone know anything about these mysterious planes?

They belong to the FBI Critical Incidnet Response Group. You can google the rest. :)

This mentions the flag on the tail.

The military emblem is on the lower rear fuselage and there is not a flag on the tail. Also pics of it show a number on the tail as well as U.S. Air Force on the fwd fuselage. It's a C32B and no there is not just one thats government owned. There are quite a few. Including the VP's 2 C32B's that are also government owned. Not converted there were quite a few built to order. They probably do not show up in the manufacturing list because they are military C32B's not commercial 757's. Kinda like the old KC135's did not show up in the commercial manufacturing list.

The Blue & White C-32s are C-32As - VIP interior, COMM Center, no in flight refueling. 4 New builds with deliveries starting 1998.

The White C-32s are C-32Bs. In-flight refueling capable, close to standard airliner interior. See the link

All have Boeing 757 effectivities.

Came to say the same,

They are subject to all the same 757 service bulletins and inspection programs, etc.

These are not C-32Bs, guys, as someone indicated above, they are ex-civilian 757s operated by L3 for the FBI/DOJ. I can dig up the N numbers later, as I shot them both while I lived near KRIC.

Both of the C-32Bs are ex-civilian airliners. They have been thought to change tail numbers. Both are air refuelable. They are owned by the USAF and fly missions at the direction of the State Department. These were originally built as B-757-223s, meaning they were originally built for American Airlines, now Boeing refers to them as B-757-023s.

N874TW ex AA N616AA. Flies as JENA1.
N119NA ex AA N616AM. Flies as JENA2.

Tail numbers were removed from them a while ago but at certain angles you can see them on the insides of the nosewheel doors.

Others are :

C-32A all in blue & white -

80001
80002
90003
90004
90015
90016
90017
(fixed msns)

FEMA C-32B all white -

24452
09001
(fixed msns)

Special Ops C-32Bs -

25001
86006
96143

These last 3 are all L-3 Comms 757s N226G and N610G in disguise and they swap the numbers around as needed. They are based at BFM when on civilian duties and Eglin when on mil duties.

At least some do (or did) still have reg numbers but they are very faint. In the example below it is just behind the flap and above the red outline on the belly. All you can see here is a bit of a blur so you'll have to take my word for it, but I got another shot from a different angle where it is clear enough to read.

Unfortunately a.net is still stuck in the 1990s with regards photo resolution and still think everyone uses a 1024x768 monitor. I can't see anything in the photo that you refer to.
