No. LM won't do anything with a replacement for the C-130J until the USAF initiates a program to replace their current fleet. Given the USAF, and other US services, will continue to take C-130Js until at least 2031 there is no reason to start a replacement program now, nor is there budget available to do so. The USAF priorities remain F-35, KC-46 and B-21. Add to that T-X and a host of other programs and the funds are just not available to replace an aircraft that is in full production and does exactly what the USAF requires.

No significant improvements, but they are working on something new. And its a lot more radical than anything currently flying. Like anything else though, will it see the light of day? No idea.

There are a few STOVL ideas floating around like a quad tilt rotor as seen in many Hollywood movies. They will be niche due to extreme cost and high fuel burn for the payload they carry.
I could see the C-130 getting newer engines in 10 years time and being produced in 30 years time.
Turboprops have such a big fuel efficiency advantage over turbofans that is allows less fuel to be carried and an overall lighter design. We see this with the KC-390 Vs C-130J and the old Hercules beats it in ever metric besides speed.

There has been a lot of speculation that the next big airlifter for the USAF will likely be some sort of low observable platform that features a blended wing type design with high mounted engines. Its all very theoretical at the moment, but, given the advances that China and Russia have made in perfecting a strategy of being able to strike at the US Military refueling aircraft at long range, having low observable transports and tankers is only logical.

No I can't tell you what I've seen. But I can say it is not that giant C-5 replacement, though they had a model of that too. I tried to find the picture of the model I saw at work online (a few years back and again like last year) but it doesn't exist. And even if I knew something, you know I couldn't tell you guys.

The military HHS’s said explicitly they may want a c-130 sized quad copter. So tgat would reduce the incentive for Lockheed to invest in the c-130 or anything like it.

Besides, you can be damn sure that so long as a Republican is in the WH that plane will never have a US name on it. If the A400 cant sell in numbers outside the US, that is THIER problem. Nobody should expect our US tax dollars to just "save" a foreign military program.

I believe LM is working on selling a civilian version of the J. Not quite as exciting as a new bird, but possibly more interesting livery.

The difference is, they are by a large majority trying to sell the A400 as a C-130 replacement, not the other way around.
It would be different if in the A400 topics there was a constant need to people to try to sell the C-130 as an A400 replacement.

Obviously posted the article in other threads but the specific C-130 numbers clearly show Congress is happy to continue funding the program and, as happened with the C-17, often funding in greater numbers than the US DoD requested.

Notably, Congress also included funding for aircraft not requested by the services in budget documents at all. For instance, it added 12 C-130J Super Hercules planes for the Air National Guard.

An extra $600 million would add five MC-130Js for Air Force special operators, for an overall procurement of 10 aircraft this fiscal year. The service would also get one additional HC-130J, for a total of three.
