Anyone know more information about this incident? Sounds like a pretty massive uncontained engine failure to damage 5 other aircraft. Hope all the Airmen in the area are ok.

Must have been a huge uncontained engine failure to damage 4 additional E-8s in addition to the one who's engine was being run.

Geez, these engines are usually bomb proof, must be a maintenance issue.

They should maybe not do these runs in proximity to other airframes ? Or mix and match the parked aircraft so that you don't cripple several of a limited fleet ?

Well that sucks. One third of the fleet down due to this. Hopefully no personell damage.

No doubt there will be a big push to replace the E-8 fleet again.

This was probably so far out in the risk register it was viewed as not worth going to the effort. After all, how often do engines have uncontained failures like this? My understanding is that after an overhaul or other maintenance the engine is put in a test cell and run through the paces to minimize the chance of something like this happening.
It'll be interesting to see if the USAF release the investigation results into this.
