Looking for (UK) private military jets to attend airshow.

Wed Dec 06, 2017 2:07 pm

First off, not entirely sure which platform/forum this best fits in to, but I've given this one a go.

The airport I work at (in Norway) plans to host an airshow next summer, and with that in mind, I am trying to work out if there are any privately owned military aircraft / fighter jets out there which could be contacted as potential participants.
Obviously the aircraft would have to be based not too far away, so I was thinking of checking out the posibilities in the UK.

Does anyone know of any organisations or private operators of military jets / warbirds, that might attend airshows?

Any suggestion is welcome.

Don't expect an easy ride. Following the Shoreham disaster the world has changed. Rules have changed, and insurance companies have updated their price list, well..... some people know better than me.

Did you check in Denmark and Sweden? Sweden has the historical flight with the Draken, Viggen and more. There's also the Biltema collection.

Denmark is more limited, but these guys have an L-29:

The Russian Team Vyazma who operates L-39s visited Roskilde Airshow a number of years ago, they seemed willing to visit smaller airshows.

In Austria you also have the Red Bull collection. I don't know if they attend airshows.

Yeah I realise it won't be easy to aquire participants from abroad.
Sweden and Denmark is an option, although there wasn't too much to choose from there either, or they are already being considered to put it another way...

Thanks for the suggestions anyway.
