F-14 ejection seats...

Sat Nov 18, 2017 2:33 pm

In some documentary, after landing, both pilots and rio would reach back to the top of the ejection seat to twist something. This is most noticeable on the opening scene of the final countdown...after cmdr owens landed his f14, he reached back to the top of his ejection seat and "twisted" something. Please explain. Thanks.
