[Rumor] Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight to give a 747-8 to Morrocan Government

Wed Sep 20, 2017 1:01 pm

Apparently Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight 747-8 VIP A6-PFA was ferried 19 sep 17 HAM-FCO for paint. He will replace Morocco Government 747-400 CN-MBH (also given by Abu Dahbi Amiri Flight).
Their second 747-8 VIP in order A6-PFB will go to Qatar Amiri Flight and became A7-HHF.

Looks like CN-MBH has spent most of its (Morrocan) life between Casablanca and Hamburg. Lufthansa Technik has hangars there. Did it have tech. issues?

This news is quite unexpected ! :o The latest rumor was that they'd receive a (very old) B747SP from Qatar. Hopeful this aircraft is indeed meant for Morocco. :hyper:

They will need a 4 engine VLA to replace CN-RGA (24years old) which serves a dual purpose: RAM & Royal Household. In reality the only time the parties of the Moroccan govt' will be able to board these aircraft is as the king's entourage.

Was it in VIP interior? OP only mentions repaint not reconfiguration to serve airline and government needs.

Yes,I heard about it too. Maybe he was to old, even if I would have loved to see It !
For the 747-8,he is in a VIP configuration,as he served Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight for 5 years. I dont think they will phase out CN-RGA,as they still use it a lot for Hajj and during summer on YUL. He just won't be used by the government anymore.

Didn't QR or EY already give the Moroccan gov a nice bird free of charge not long ago?
There was a thread about it.

Thanks Boair for sharing the picture.

Thanks,

I think there is a deadlink in Boair's post. Here you go, first picture of Government of Morocco B747-8Z5 BBJ CN-MBH, on loan from Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight. Previous registration was A6-PFA.

http://www.skyliner-aviation.de/viewpho ... icid=10059

The previous ex-Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight B747-45M A6-UAE which also went to Government of Morocco is now re-registered was CN-TSD.

Sidenote: Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight has another B747-8Z5 BBJ not taken up, now going to Qatar Amiri Flight as A7-HHF.

Two 747s for the King of Morocco?
I wonder why Abu Dhabi is offloading this plane which has been in service for just two years. And why the 748 when they keep one older 744? Oh, well, people have problems...
