On a related note, where did Ukraine get the Su-27 and Mig-29 in 2015 from? Looks like two each? I suppose Russia is out of the question.

Those are Ukrainian aircraft refurbished by Ukrainian firms.
In the case of the Mig-29s, the aircraft were refurbished by the Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant.

From the large stocks of former Soviet aircraft left behind in Ukraine in a non-flyable condition. As an example, when Russia took Crimea, they found 45 MiG-29s at an airbase there, by far the most of the in a non-flyable condition. These were returned, and are among those being put into service now.

Wikipedia is quite accurate, since it is based on Flight Internationals annual reviews. For 2017, the most common types should be:
MiG-29: 21/217
Su-24: 12/104
Su-25: 13/35
Su-27: 18/65
Il-76/78: 5/60
Mi-24: 34/60
Mi-8: 53/170
An-24/26/30/32: 27/49
I find it doubtful that they will ever get a fraction of those types operational again though. The majority of non-operational frames are probably deteriorated beyond the point of return, and Ukraine has a miniscule budget, even by eastern-European standards. Even looking at the ground forces, they have so far failed to bring back more than a handful of the 10.000+ tanks they inherited from the USSR, and tanks can withstand (even bad) storage conditions considerably better than a combat aircraft, and is much easier to upgrade too.

Work on one or more Antonov AEW&C projects has been going on since some time.
In August last year, a high official of the Ukrainian Air Force was quoted in the media saying that Antonov was developing an AEW&C aircraft for the Ukrainian Air Force.
The media articles were accompanied by drawings of An-178/148 family (or similar) aircraft with an An-71-style tailtop radar dome.

Apparently, Ericsson and Antonov were already in talks about the possibility of placing the Ericsson radar on Antonov aircraft under the presidency of Yushenko (2004-2010).
The Flight International data are outdated. But since this is off-topic here, I will respond with greater detail in the Ukrainian Air Power thread.

I am pretty sure thats not an An-148/178 based aircraft, but an An-74TK-300 (the An-72/74 with engines under the wings), fitted with the AEW modifications of the An-71 and a new nose section. Still, a nice looking jet. I wonder if China will end up with a bunch.
