I kept the thread title as general as possible. The following bit of news is more specific, though.
It's no secret the Russian space program has been plagued by quality control problems, and if memory serves, Vladimir Evdokimov was hailed as someone getting ahead with fixing some of the issues. It seemed suspicious [though obviously not unthinkable] to me that he would suddenly be found guilty of embezzlement. Alas, after first having simply reported his sudden death in detention, officials are now calling it murder.
