Thanks Galaxy5. What are we looking at in the 4th pic from the top? Is that baggage stowage for pax or the crew?

Are there two upper decks on the C-5? from one of your pics I can see daylight, yet I thought seating was at the rear with just one tiny window.

Yes, there are two upper decks. One is the "flight deck" (forward of the wing) and the other is the "troop compartment" (aft of the wing).

The flight deck has seating provisions for 15 in the aft portion and five primary crewmembers in the cockpit (with capability for two additional instructor/student seats). The flight deck also has two bunkrooms with three beds in each.

The troop compartment (the rear upper deck) has seating provisions for 73 passengers and two crewmembers.

Yeh, the movie was "Interceptor" and it sucked royally! Unfortunately, it contained a very, very bad depiction of a C-5 Galaxy.

And as you know... people cannot climb down the refueling boom of a KC-10... that movie is Hollywood depicting aviation at their worse, as far as I'm concerned.

i just saw the trailer on that website you gave me for interceptor. it seems pretty lame. and even more idiotic regarding tankers and how they really work than air force one!

I believe that movie came out around 1990, and it was very lame. I watched it with a bunch of other loadmasters at Dover and we laughed the whole time!  Smile

I liked the scene (totally unrealistic of course) where they fly F-117s out of the rear hatch of the C-5  Smile
