A classic beauty and the beast pic. The -60's are the beauty if you were wondering.

As far as I can tell, Fightingfalcon, those indeed are UH-60 Blackhawks.

My god that is cool! I work around Blackhawks, and the tail seems so tall. But here, I see that they are in the bay and the tail doesn't even touch the ceiling of the 1st floor, and when you consider there is basically a full size airliner style cabin above that, well, that's just bad ass.

With 2 Blackhawks loaded, how much more can the C5 carry? How much do the Blackhawks weigh?

Let me get this straight....6 helicopters, a H'ummve, support equipment and spare parts???? 6 'friggin helicopters???? I've been in the C5 several times, and although I know the cargo area is large, I never realized it could hold that much volume. What is the weight of each of the helos?

yup, thats correct. im not sure of each helo weight, since im not a loadmaster but i assure you this is a standard not out of the ordinary load for the C-5.

I need not remind myself why i have a C-5 model in my room. I always wanted to fly one of those or the F-16...too bad i have 20/400 uncorrected..i have 20/17 with my contacts which is rediculous whyi cant be in the air force. Enough complaining...bed time.

Galaxy 5 you have an interesting photo there, I also have some of the loading of several MH-60G's as a C-5 was being flown to a far away place. The interest for me though is in the type helos shown. I am sure they are MH-60K's which are used by the Army Special Forces. Do you know what they are for sure?

I was a loadmaster on C-5's for 8 years. The Galaxy can indeed carry more than most people expect. Just picture this.... a C-5 has the capacity to carry 6 Greyhound buses! Although I must say, it might be pretty difficult to get the required amount of restraint on them and takeoff weight may be an issue as well.
