This isn't uncommon on hub-to-hub routes for the US3 (and I probably beyond the US3, but that's what I'm most familiar with). In part demand on hub-to-hub, in part availability of equipment that may be idling between long haul turns, and in part repositioning. For example, AA runs a mixture of 738/3...

Didn't AA experiment with STN for a short time? AA will never admit it but they flew from JFK to Stansted to out Max jet out of business and they and 9/11 did bankrupt them. What about an A380? AUS is an alternate for both IAH and DFW for A380's. Who knows. Perhaps they will have to taxi to the south and around the satellite in order to reach the A380 gates on the east side. Though I don't think many A380's will be coming to AUS anytime soon. I hadn't realize that the MD-88s were not fully consolidated at ATL. I knew they were pulled from LGA but thought they still flowed through other hubs some. Apparently I thought wrong!

Ignorant question, but just because they were NYC-based doesn't mean they lived in NYC, does it? Unless AS/VX worked unlike other airlines, it seems that a lot of the NYC-based crews for other airlines don't actually reside in NYC, they commute to NYC.

As stated above, I'd be more concerned with slots (at the time DL would want to add flights) then gates. If the slot restrictions were lifted, gated would become an issue, but slot restrictions are not going anywhere.

From what I saw, Jetblue proactively canceled early because of the forecast. As of late Tuesday afternoon, Jetblue had already canceled 422 flights (41% of schedule) systemwide based on storm forecasts.

EI105 to JFK took off a little before EI119, and it appears that DL45 has pushed (likely getting de-iced). The EY flight looks like it is back on track to land at DUB.

Airport operations on hold again as they clear the runway again. Diversions occurring, some planes holding and trying to wait it out.

EI136 BOS-DUB which diverted to SNN early this morning is now re-diverting to SNN.
