It probably reflects the fact that most airlines that were operating AKL had been doing so for many years and so have probably timed off any incentive scheme, whereas CHC has airlines which are far more recent (CZ, CX). - AKL/CHC-HNL - relieve NZ of 789 flying. Can be done with lower range 777/767's. CHC may help JV renewal. Or even WLG-HNL. Well within the range of any widebody from the runway. Whereas in the case of CHC you can get someone flying non-stop to mainland USA over the top, in WLG thats not the case.
