Congrats for BNA and BA! They really need to do a flyover over the Batman building on the inaugural, what better way to know you're in Nashville

RIP to those who died that day. The silver lining is that DL191 taught the aviation industry about the danger of microbursts and led to invaluable safety enhancements.
Jump to postDXB, DWC and Sharjah. Those are far outside the USA. The title clearly says regions in the US so the middle east doesn't qualify. Moscow. Might even have 4 one day ;) Again, not in the USA so it doesn't count. Seems like outside the USA it's easy to find regions with multiple international airports...
Jump to postOK, folks slow your roll a bit. Let's limit this to intercontinental flights. If you do that then only the bay area and NYC have 3 and NYC only does if you count SWF. South Florida has two. DC has two if you include BWI. Boston has two if you include PVD (I don't - I consider PVD its own market). O...
Jump to postWith new service at OAK and SJC in the last year, does that give the Bay Area the distinction of being the only region with three International airports? Not sure if this aimed at the Omaha or Tampa side but kudos to Lopano and the team for landing a new route.

Why if LH flies the same route? Simply put, there is enough demand for both. LH is geared towards business, and can benefit from UA connections in SFO and LAX. DE is geared towards leisure and SFO and LAX are huge leisure destinations. My mistake, I thought Condor was part of Lufthansa. Doesn't Con...

Hello A.net,
Always wondered why the Superhub is so busy at night if the temperature is not that hot during the day. I've heard that there is a plane arriving or departing every 40 seconds during these hours! Is it a logistical or physical reason for peak rush during night hours?
Desperately trying to avoid flying an empty A380 on such a long sector just to reposition it. My guess. EK probably had a dozen of them sitting on the tarmac! There's no way on earth that they would've had a hard time finding a spare A380 in DXB, unless for some odd reason they were hesitant to bor...
Jump to postWill be interesting to see two competing feeds, UA at DEN and BA at LHR. The interesting thing is that in terms of connections, they actually compete in different markets. That said, DEN-LON is getting crowded! Not too long ago, it was just BA and now it's BA, DY, and UA!
Jump to postRIP to the victims of that tragedy. One cannot help but wonder if the SST would have had a fighting chance even amidst unprofitability had this crash not occurred.

If it's just 5 a/c, TG is not out of the realm of possibility and is probably the most likely out of the three if they can get a good price. NH hasn't even gotten theirs yet so I am extremely skeptical that anything will materialize until then. IAG is the least likely because their is no business ca...

What are you asking exactly? Have people landed on runways that aren't used much or what do you mean by rare config? I'm newer to the forum so maybe I should know what you mean but I don't. Jump to postSo as many would know, AUH has delayed the opening of the midfield complex to 2019. Does anyone know if this referred to the early or later half of 2019 and if the project is far enough along to have a reasonable possibility of opening in 2019?
Jump to postEtihad must have really DEEP pockets to go down this path, their 49% hasn't really been a winner for them. Jump to postWill be interesting to see if the new gates for partner airlines *cough* Emirates *cough* will be A380 capable. JetBlue has quite a large number of partner airlines, and if all of them used a new T5 extension, it could very well create a new Int'l terminal altogether on the T6 site.
Jump to postInteresting. In US English slang, "boost" is to steal ( http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=boost ). Jump to postI kind of see this as a major fail on the part of the legacies if Norwegian starts DEN-CDG before either Star or Skyteam.
