Yes it is summer seasonal to PHL. Announcement to come within the hour.
Jump to postSooo...did I miss the DL PHL-LHR being cancelled? Or was that just seasonal for summer? I thought there was too much capacity on this market. I checked a few dates in Oct. 2016 and they still show a DL 757 n/s from LHR-PHL. If i remember correctly, Delta must maintain this flight for 2 years from i...
Jump to postHead For Points reports that BA is to cut one of its two daily flights to PHL from next summer (second news item in link) which would free up an aircraft and suitable slot: http://www.headforpoints.com/2016/09/27 ... -new-york/ Doesn't free up a slot assuming AA is simply taking it. They slot pool....
Jump to postAA PHL-LHR loaded as 2x 333. Not all that surprising. Adding an AA flight in the 5 hours between the two BA LHR-PHL flights. Might also be AA taking a frequency from BA, have to watch as BA loads S17. Anyone know BA's timeline for loading S17 schedule? BA has been 2X year round for ages and with ot...
Jump to postThe sky is not falling in PHL. Even with the reductions, PHL will still see service to: LHR (year round) MAN (year round) CDG (year round) MAD (year round) AMS (year round) MUC (year round) DUB (year round) FCO (year round) LIS (seasonal) ATH (seasonal) BCN (seasonal) FRA (seasonal) GLA (seasonal) ...
Jump to postIts not exact data but per the question, a slight reduction of flights is being offset (at least partially) but upgauged aircrafts. Looking at activity reports by PHL, with relatively flat passenger numbers, the airport has continued to see shifts from "commuter" passengers to "schedu...
Jump to postInteresting to see their opinions fifteen years later. It just goes to show the unpredictability of the aviation industry. For my home airport, PHL, I could reasonably see some of the following changes: -One nonstop to Asia (maybe JAL, or AA to NRT) -Norwegian and maybe one or two other discount lo...

Jump to postA shame. Seeing F9 maintain some non-Florida routes year round gave me more hope that maybe we could see some further build up of PHL soon but now we are down to just DEN, CLT, and MSY. So just sun routes, their sizeable DEN operation, and CLT which is a huge market with just AA. AUS would have been...
Jump to postSeems like they just applied for EVERYTHING. What could this be? From a point or points in Mexico to a point or points in the United States; b. From Acapulco, Hermosillo, Mexico City, Toluca, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, Tampico, Veracruz, Villahermosa, and lxtapa/ Zihuatanejo to Chicago, K...
Jump to postusairways85 wrote:Correct me if I am wrong but aren't the PHL-Cuba slot awards, really PHL-MIA-Cuba slots?
I've heard that Philadelphia has been announced as a new destination by Emirates (no exact date) I'm pretty sure the only talk about PHL is the standard "EK has been in talks with the airport." Something that a number of airports in the US can claim. You are probably correct that there is...
Jump to postI don't think the ATL or PHL moves mean too much and are right in line with everything F9 has done for several years. Having said that, the lack of a consistent schedule and the unwillingness to operate this stuff deep into Fall tells me 1) the routes range from OK to poor and there are no rock sta...
Jump to postLooks like your right re PHL-MCO, the 4th flight is one stop via CLT.
But nevertheless, as you point out many (north-south) flights are upgauged already in the W schedule.
There are also some upgauges for the winter season at PHL:
- MCO gets an additional daily flight (up to 4 daily)
- MIA and TPA go daily (up from 4 weekly)
- AUS and MSY go from 3 weekly to 4 weekly
