Re: Boeing 787 Production/Deliveries - 2023

I have thought it odd if Austrian takes 5 RR and 5 GE... would make sense to stick to one OEM with a relatively small, simplified fleet. There were different competing priorities at Lufthansa HQ. The 5 789s being transferred to Austria from Lufthansa are the ones taken over from Hainan Airlines ret...

Re: Air France-KLM News and Discussion - 2023

I am a bit worried with the pace of the modifications though. KLM still has still 24 777s to modify, and with an average modification time of 3 weeks (BVD needed just a bit over 2 weeks, but since then things got slower and BVK is now in the hangar for 4 weeks) it looks like it will take until the e...

Re: Dubai Air Show 2023 - Airbus Orders and General Discussion Thread

I must say, I think this top-up for 15 frames is a bit anti-climactic here. Was really expecting a bit more. Maybe the plan was to announce 35x A35K and 15x A359 during this Airshow. Airbus already had a rendering of A359s and A35K's in EK colors, it was uploaded by mistake in the ET A350 order ann...

In one of the earlier threads it was mooted that EK might lodge a placeholder order for 359s. to secure delivery slots then convert to 35Ks if and when happy on the engine front Wouldn't it be smarter to use options if you want to secure delivery slots? Re: Dubai Air Show 2023 - Boeing Orders and General Discussion Thread

The article discusses Boeing "outflank[ing]" Airbus with the ET order, but I don't see an explanation of why they are asserting that. And Turkish and Airbus have a 355-frame A320+A350 family order they are finalizing which would pretty much eliminate Boeing's lead. Except that order isn't...

I think this is the first time we have a order for replacements of 787’s. 777w replacements will start from the 2030’s, orders should be placed in 2026/27. 777x vs A350-1000 competition will be an uphill battle for Boeing.
