Does not look too bad to me, but areas that probably did it are the main lettering, the fuselage at the tail join, spots on the logo and the edge of the rudder.

RE: Post Screening Advice

Hi, The bare metal section of the nacelle does appear quite soft to me. It is probably just a trick of the light, but the eye does seem to get drawn to the engine so it is hard to miss. I think I would work on sharpening that up. Nothing else looks soft to me and the only spot that I might call over...

I would have to disagree with the grainy. I do not see any problem noise. I do agree that it is a bit dark. I think you could do some work with the levels to improve that. I am not sure about the colour. I do not know what these aircraft should look like but I certainly do not see any odd cast in th...

The second one looks just a bit soft along the fuselage. Maybe there was a bit of heat haze? Keep in mind, too, that it is a larger image so the standards will likely be a bit higher. The third looks soft on the top of the fuselage aft of the winglet, along the top of the nose and on the windows. It...

I think the motive on the second might be okay, but it is a bit subjective... I would consider a wider shot if you have one just to make it more obvious that this is inside an aircraft.

I like both but I'm not sure that they have good chances here. The Air Canada looks quite soft in spots. I think it is also in an awkward 'in between' spot light-wise. If that is how it really looked you could certainly argue that point, but I'd say you might be better off with more contrast and a p...

Cutting off the horizontal stab seems to be somewhat frowned upon, but the way it was done here should not be a motive rejection. See example 15c ('Justified clipping of stabilizer') in the Motive section of the rejection guide.

Was Motive not included as a rejection reason for the first image? I think that this would be rejected because of the equipment blocking parts of the engines.

If the primary subject is a single aircraft then I do not think that 'Airport overview' should ever be selected.

In order to get useful feedback regarding screening you will need to post links to full-size images (at least 1024px) Based on the images you have above, though, I would say that the second has too much dead space on the left and the third needs to be cropped closer. Here's my take on them:

1. Looks good
2. Good overall. Some of the lettering looks a bit oversharpened, but maybe not enough to matter.
3. Maybe a bit overexposed or over-contrasted?
4. Quality looks good, but maybe a bit of a blue/green cast?
5. Looks good

The 737 looks pretty soft (probably heat haze) You could try 1024px but it looks iffy to me. The F/A-18 has a bit of the soft/oversharpened look. Maybe it was a bit too soft in the original or else you had to crop fairly heavily? I think I would call this one borderline. If it was mine I would proba...

You could try re-sizing in increments. I saw that mentioned here once and I find it seems to help. I normally use two intermediate sizes.

I would also make sure that your capture setting is not sharper than default.

Finally, if your quality is good you could aim for 1200 instead of 1024.
