Re: What distance is too short for a plane but too far by car?

Los Angeles --> Orange County. Does UA still operate this flight? It's painfully slow at rush hour to drive (making this far) and a little too short for flying. I did that once when I was living in L.A. to attend a job fair at a SNA-area hotel. Granted, I was using my mom's standby passes, so it wa...

Welp, my sister just moved to Nashville, guess I need to start following this thread. Though getting to BNA from NYC is mediocre at this point IMO. No mainline except WN from LGA. Strange large increase. Smaller planes? *UA IAD-TYS JAN 1.2>2 FEB 1.4>3 MAR 1.8>3 APR 1.9>3 MAY 1.9>3 JUN 1.8>3 Yep, they are putting 3x CRJ/ERJ-135/145 instead of 2x CR7/ERJ-135/145. For me, it depends on the duration of the flight. For an hour-long BNA-ORD segment, smaller regional jets are annoying but no big deal. What is interesting is that AA doesn't even market JFK as a domestic connecting hub. For example west coast to DC or BOS routes me through PHL or CLT or occasionally LAX (nonstop).
