If the unions accepted 2 hours of CVR recording time, I don't see what the objection would be at this point to increasing it. All in-flight cockpit conversations are already recorded, most just end up overwritten with new data.

It does make more sense to drive to, say, MRY or maybe even SBP from the Bay Area, but RNO/SBA are far enough that it could go either way.
