The 788 is today's incarnation of the 762. It's CASM are just too high for an airline like KL with relatively few high yielding seats. I know better, but would love to see the 321LR and/or 330NEO for KL's medium-(not-so)-longhaul fleet for flights somewhere between 5 to 9 hours. Not gonna happen..

The runway at UIO is 4098m long, the problem is the surrounding terrain in combination with the one engine inop climb performance at 7900ft MSL.

That’s not it.
I think the SJO-AMS flight has had to make too many fuel stops ex SJO since the nonstop flights began. These triangle flights should be more reliable with better engine out takeoff performance ex LIR. Same reason KL does not fly BOG-AMS nonstop.

KL crew are certified to fly the 777 and 787 on a single typerating.
At the moment the crewchange takes place in CTG.

Perhaps the change to the T7 has to do with the summer schedule?

Takeoff with the flaps down, i.e. not in a certified takeoff setting should result in a takeoff configuration warning. An event that is impossible to overloook.

I always avoid KLM at any price, the food is just so untasty, almost junk food. And the seat pitch, just a nightmare. All true. I have no problem at all with 2-2-2, perfect for couples and I see quite a few of those on board. At least no middle seat and a 100% full flat J-class longhaul fleet. Something that cannot be said about AF.

But we’re drifting here.
Anyhow, 3-3-3 in eco is better than 3-4-3..

Amazed by the fact that KL and HV don't swap their 73NG's for the MAX asap, which would result in a much needed reduced noise footprint around the Dutch airports. I remember some head honcho from LH stating that the NEO has a footprint 50% less than the CEO. Let's get on with it!

Sky Lease have only got 4 active frames now. 2x B744s N904AR N908AR and 2x MD11s N986AR N987AR. Their other 747s (N903AR) and MD11s are all long since dead now and probably parts donors.
