Re: VS to switch LAS to LHR in S19 ?

I believe VS are hoping the move to LHR will allow them to target more corporate conference traffic which will help sell the increased J capacity and the reduction in Y capacity from the LGW 744 will also allow for some better yields. With CUN going and now LAS moving I wonder if LGW/MAN/GLA/BFS wil...

Re: VS to go double daily LHR-JNB W18/19.

I don't think this will last more than one season, two at most. Once VS have enough of the larger A350 at LHR they will offer a much better way to increase capacity on routes like JNB without the need for another frequency. The third daily LAX during northern summer is another one that probably won'...

Another point is aircraft utilisation. The extra time needed for that second flight plus there is often a lot of down time in SYD which can take up a full extra airframe. I remember when VS pulled out of HKG-SYD one of the key factors was not that the route wasn't profitable and it didn't affect the...

I've had friends who were travelling LGW-JFK with DY earlier this year and about a week before the flight got a text informing them the flight would be operated by Hi-Fly on an A332. The real problem here is lack of large aircraft. I've thought so many times the 789 is just not the right plane for VS. The 359 + 3510 combined with 339neo would have suited much better but the old logic of "me too" swayed in at the launch of the 787 and VS just couldn't say no (kind of l...

That slot "might" be the slot that is going to be used for the third LAX-LHR flight starting next summer. No idea if it really is...just speculating. Bingo! The slot had to come from somewhere (and the aircraft too). Quite sad to see yet another destination go from the VS route map. I get...

This is a very short term solution to the delayed delivery of a 789. The 744 was taken out of storage to fill the gap and will then be sent for reconfig to leisure mode to join the Gatwick fleet until a leisure fleet decision is made.

From an alliance point of view, One World would be quite happy with this survey. Skyteam, however, should be concerned.

Regardless of your thoughts on how a survey like this is created, it is a good marketing tool for those who end up on top and missed opportunity for those who did not.
