They really should try year-round service on this route. Nobody else does it from ORD since both American and Alitalia both suspend as well. If it can support 3x daily in the summer I'd think 1x daily in winter is doable.

I would expect to see the growth continue for the next decade or so if the Argentine economy can hold up. The potential for tourism to Buenos Aires and Patagonia is huge.

Some interesting figures. In 2013 the average passenger count per operation was about 76. Meaning for every take off and landing there was on average 76 people on that plane. 2017 YTD traffic numbers. Numbers in bold designate new records for that month. International passengers is at 6 record breaking months in a row now, total pax saw new records for 5 of the last 6 months. I think people are underestimating the capacity increases in this plan. We are talking about demolishing 45 RJ gates and replacing them with 15-20 widebody gates and up to 60 narrowbody gates. I'm sure maybe 50% of those will end up being RJ gates but will UA want to build them out as just RJ gates ...

It could be for one of the next Tesla Gigafactories. He said more locations will be announced before the end of this year. The one in Nevada is on a 2,800 acre site (much of it still undeveloped though).
