It is rather strange that ORD has 5x daily flights to Tokyo but YYZ only has a single daily flight. Both cities are around the same size and distance and both are the dominant players in their region.

I would say it is just a matter of time until ORD joins the club, with Ethiopian now filling to Africa hole and either Qantas or Air NZ likely to fill the Australia hole within the next year or two.

They really should try year-round service on this route. Nobody else does it from ORD since both American and Alitalia both suspend as well. If it can support 3x daily in the summer I'd think 1x daily in winter is doable.

2017 YTD traffic numbers. Numbers in bold designate new records for that month. International passengers is at 6 record breaking months in a row now, total pax saw new records for 5 of the last 6 months.
