^ When D was built, CO guaranteed that portion of the airport's bonded debt, which was efficient since the airport could get a better interest rate than CO could. This may still be the case with UA, although there have been a couple of re-negotiations along the way.

Some nice surprises from the AA schedulers. Instead of reducing CLT by one flight in September, they are increasing the schedule by one A319. PHL will lose one E145. DFW goes to 3 738s, with only 2 MD80s left. Net of all this is a seat *increase* for the fall season.

The last time I was over in D, it was pretty cramped. Even before the interior mods, when D was more open, it was a hoppin’ place handling RJ’s. I really don’t think it would make a good terminal for international aircraft (or even mainline, for that matter) and don’t really understand the infatuat...

Interesting article from OAG about the the fastest growing airports. CVG is the fastest growing medium hub (up 18%), while CLE is #5 (up 11%). On the air cargo front, yes a few trucks a day go to EWR. As well to ORD. Both gateways generally add two days to air cargo transit times due to trucking and scanning prior to loading. Many wise shippers have found Rickenbacker to be a good alternative. You can get the cargo there and be on a plane...

I don't see why. If the business plan works, great. If not, the airline closes. There are no shareholders to appease, and there won't be a big void in the air transportation system if things go bad. If you think the airport FIS is bad, things could get worse. Mrs Brown and I are taking a St. Lawrence Seaway cruise that clears US customs in Cleveland. I believe the "facility" is an Army surplus tent near Dock 28. I'll let you know how *that* goes. :D

One nice thing about the fuel price rise, from OneJet's point of view, it's probably making E135s cheaper again. Ultimate's model allowed for fuel inefficiencies to be made up by cheap ownership costs and high fares; I'm guessing that will carry over.

Interesting article in the FT(US edition) today about the different approaches Ryan and IAG are taking to Brexit. MOL seems to think the IAG strategists, buying a stake and courting Norwegian, are being much too optimistic that the airlines will sail through unscathed.

The DTW-ROC is indeed odd, but here's what I found, it is 4 daily until Nov 3rd, then 3 daily (Saturday), then nothing at all from Nov 4th thru the 20th of December, where 3 Daily resumes.
