Saturday night it was a CC-130H Hercules, registered 130335 of Canadian Forces. No clue what it was doing, I suspect a training exercise, but not sure why they would do that on a weekend, during the late evening hours, over a populated area, and at low altitude. It was strange.

I flew EWR-ARN on MH in the late 2000s. It also operated on the 777-200, and MH had 5th freedom rights on the route. I clearly remember pushing back from the gate and the pilot announcing on the P/A system that we were roughly #40 for takeoff outta EWR.

When AIFs help fund indoor forests, waterfalls, sculptures and fish tanks that’s when it bothers me. They are all unnecessary. Give us functional, clean, efficient terminals without the unnecessary luxury items and keep the AIF fee reduced.

When UA operated JFK-HKG they only had 1 unified pax configured fleet-wide. The high-J configuration was not used on JFK-HKG because the config was retired before the route started. It was used on JFK-NRT about 2 years earlier. Yes, UA did weight restrict the JFK-HKG leg. It blocked between 30-50 se...
