Best trip I've read for a while. Flew 1-11, Trident, Concorde never got on a Caravelle (well apart from in the hold on a Handling strike in LGW) and dreamed for a VC10

Cargo operators prefer the 757 for a simple reason - cost. There are plenty of 767-200's around but they prefer 767-300's so they can cover long haul also. The market for 757's is pretty competitive its going to be a difficult aircraft to replace in 10 years time

Marius Ideally you need a car. At the airport is very difficult. On the road out of Marseille past Airbus Helicopters take a right spur (it comes on quick so be ready) But then be even more ready to pull in to the verge on the right. Quiet a few TUI aircraft have advertising branding these days in Germany anyway. Easy will wait and pick up the pieces, either business or crews if they jump.

In the "old" days galley of DC10-30 had a row of three there no official use. Best seats in the house, personal service , odd drink or two and not much contact with the puhnters apart from take off and landing. Entrance was via the cart lift.

The airshow is held at Sakhir Air Base 45 mins from the airport. It's in the middle of no-where and you would not get near it apart from the show. The ME Airlines were all there apart from etihad. DHL have taken some FI B757's already.
The replacement for 757 at FI is the same for DHL, A321 doesn't do the job, MAX is a lower load.
