Re: United 737 off runway at IAH

NTSB released the preliminary report: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/193898/pdf Some tidbits in there including the captain possibly misreading the runway conditions for that runway on the tablet. What I find bizarre are the orders for 20 B788 and 15 B78X. I still can’t process the idea of Emirates ordering the B787-8!! I would not be surprised if they are place holder orders and all 787’s will be transferred to flydubai. Same owner remember and he has a lot of leverage with Boeing wrt all s...

That is insane tbh. That’s as close to an near accident as you want to come. It was highly unstable at points and should have never been allowed all the way to a touchdown. I do hope TAP inspects the aircraft, calls the crew in for tea without biscuits and seriously reminds all their crews ‘to not c...

Re: Ryanair's MoL - warming to Airbus ?

If you think MOL is not being serious here, think again. Every airline with Boeing 737 airplanes on order feels the pinch as planes are heavily delayed. The 737 output is just over halve that of the A320 with no major rise over the next months or even year +. It is a major headache at the moment. An...

So we already know it’s gonna be 787/350&777X. All three. The number variation doesn’t really matter much tbh. It’s what we want and what we need plus a bit of politics. Big, bigger, biggest. Simple. They fly A350’s to DXB and EK takes the A380 to Doha. (Pre-blockade) Demand is there but just go...

If you are going to order anything it needs to do the job for you for the next 2+ decades so it has to be future proof and something the 787 family can not do currently. I guess this also has to do with the fact that 'competitor' Salam Air (using that term loosely as both airlines are owned by (in the case of Salam Air partially) state-owned investment firms) will be getting some very high density A330neos later this year - I can only really wonder what the future ...

Airbus will do everything it can to get the A350 in as it blocks another potential 777X customer from ordering this big new twin. And there are very few customers options for Boeing so it will be a big win for Airbus. The 787 is not a competitor to the A350. It all depends on if AA wants to upgauge ...

The -10 is optimized for its role. Above it sits the 77X family. Unfortunately the whole family has been stretched thin due to the loooong project delays. But the idea is sound. The A359/K sits in that 777 segment, not the 787. Hence Airbus had to do that tripple bogey etc to make it their top tier ...
