Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine - Military Aviation News and Discussion Thread

During the buildup we saw unconfirmed pictures with Russian armor sporting a modification above the turret. This was generally believed to be an adaptation to protect from aerial strikes by Javelins, similar to the RPG netting used in US combat vehicles. I genuinely believe that Russians were concer...

Meanwhile, today the USAF flew training sorties in Sweden (!) with two B-52s. It is not the first time to see B-52 in Sweden, but given the current environment, this is a very clear signal. Despite the long history of Sweden being a neutral nation in international affairs, they happily provide a lo...

I agree with what all you are saying. Our mistake was staying past Bin Laden's escape to Pakistan. We need to remember how this started in the first place. There are means to taking down a drone without "shooting" it. Not really. Any drone not bought from a toy store will return to base if the link is interrupted. Even GPS jamming won't do the job on good ones since $4 Smartphone type IMUs can take over until they're out of jamming range. Th...

Valid. I meant it more that the non-J C-130 served as TACAMO previously, so it would make sense that a J model (MC, for instance) could probably also fill the role.
