I hope developers are already planning updated versions of their aircraft so I don't have to fly an Orbit 737 for too long! It'll be interesting to see what default jet aircraft are included. My guesses: A220-300 A321neo A350-900 737-8 Max 747-8 (I would be surprised to see them remove the default ...Jump to post
Might be biased but the NGs were truly fantastic to fly, loved that plane, though my back didn't, anyone who's been in a 737 cockpit knows what I'm talking about. I agree. The NGs are the best. I’m still a bit too young to fly aircraft but I have been in a 737-800 Sim and the seat isn’t all that gr...Jump to post
I’ve had a re-book on Singapore Airlines due to overbooking TWICE in the same night on a flight from SIN-MEL. SQ gave the 7 or so of us that were bumped free dinner for the first flight and then $1000 cash after not being able to get a seat on the second. On the plus side, I did get a seat on the 3r...Jump to post

Hello, After many years of reading the monthly Australian Aviation threads, I have decided to take the plunge and join Airliners.net. I have been following our local aviation scene for the last ten years or so, and I look forward to contributing to discussions on this forum, and to this thread in p...Jump to post

Another one bites the dust...
A damn shame it had to be another MAX.
My money is on that this is related to JT610.
Condolences to all those involved and their families....
City: Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
Airport: Hobart International Airport
Although we should get a service to New Zealand sometime soon.
Flying LHR-PER-HBA is a good option (only 2 flights) and the you can drive to Launceston in about 2-3 hours up the midland highway. The only thing to watch out for is the number of major roadworks...
Or you could stay on QF10 until it gets to Melbourne and fly with QantasLink direct to LST
At Penang (PEN) the planes fly quite low over the cityJump to post
no such thing as New Zeeland. https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-47171599
Dam it guys! LOL!!! So thankful the crew survived. As others have mentioned, these men and women that do this job have balls of steel. It amazes me how they are able to risk so much. I mean, imagine having to put it down near a major fire? Or, end up in the water? Hopefully they can get the remaind...Jump to post
I watch Jeff Favignano for gaming, and Christopher Bill for when my inner musician needs to unwind.
Russian and Eastern European car crashes are great viewing when I’m in a bad mood too.
There are currently: 7x Skycranes on the mainland (one crashed yesterday) and there are also 2x EC-130 Hercules, and Avro RJ and the Coulson 737-300 firebombers in Hobart.
Any updates on any aircraft to do with the fires would be great.
Mods please move if this is not the right forum.
When I was flying on AirAsia between Penang and Kota Kinabalu last year, I was stuck with THREE screaming children around me for the whole flight, combined with the fact my earbuds were in my checked-in bags.
The only positive was I got myself one of those really good 1:200 A330 models
I don’t really know about getting let in mid-flight, but I brought myself a nice 1:200 scale Virgin Australia 77W before I left and decided to put it together on the plane.
The FA saw me putting it together and asked if I would like to come up to the cockpit after the landing.....
Railways would have a much greater impact. This is because they are less limited by water crossings, and because the railway infrastructure will be much more essential and mature. With oceans we can ship stuff very efficiently from one place to another by ship. Without ships and ports goods will ha...Jump to post
The way things are going down here in southern Tasmania, we’ll need some more firefighting A/C.
