According to a recent presentation from the director of PWM, it seems that UA's DEN-PWM will be going year-round although that's not reflected in UA's schedule yet. Also not sure about BTV.
Jump to post2 carriers competing on LAN-MCO is a bit crazy. Avelo flies it to. I wonder if they will operate on the same days or different Agree ... what is even crazier is 2 carriers competing on the Bangor, Maine to MCO and TPA areas ... Bangor has a population of just 31,000 residents and Allegiant already ...
Jump to postPWM-JAX shows up as a bookable option on the Breeze website, although no flights are loaded yet.
Jump to postDoes anyone have an idea of how Frontier is doing at PWM? I flew PWM-RDU-PWM last week and both flights were maybe 60-70% full, but that's just anecdotal. They're down to just 3x weekly PWM-RDU for the summer season and so far only have PWM-MCO loaded as 1x weekly for the fall. Seems like they might...
Jump to postBreeze adding winter seasonal PWM-MCO starting September 6th. 2x weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays with the A220.
Jump to postCorrect me if i'm wrong...But it seems like UA isn't bringing back any of the PWM-Midwest CRJ-550 routes introduced last year. As far as I can tell, none of those routes performed particularly well.
Jump to postThree Delta / Republic E175s arrived at PWM this morning from PHL,RDU and CLE. Anyone know what that’s about?
Jump to postUA is upping DEN-BTV to daily next summer with an A319, and upgauging DEN-PWM daily with a MAX-9. I'm cautiously hopeful that DEN-PWM will eventually become a year round route. I've flown that route 4 times and every flight has been packed and I've encountered plenty of Mainers on those flights. F9 ...
Jump to postFrom what I’ve seen elsewhere, UA’s PWM-Midwest routes aren’t doing astoundingly well. I would be surprised if any of those routes returned next summer.
Jump to postHas DL permanently pulled out of MHT? They don't seem to have any bookable flights for the next 3-4 months at least.
It also seems like UA's only presence at MHT is 2x daily to IAD throughout the summer
AA is also adding Saturday BGR to DFW and MIA.
MIA Starts in late June And runs through Labor Day. DFW starts in August and runs through Nov. 6th
Is AA PWM-DFW daily for the summer? It seems to be based on the few sample bookings I've done.
Jump to postmiaami wrote:AA PWM-ORD looks to increase from 2 to 3X daily 175s effective June 3.
Seems like WN has added a daily PWM-MDW stating June 6th.
It's difficult to get to western points on Southwest from PWM right now. I do hope MDW becomes a year round route.
UA just added a smorgasbord of P2P summer flights from the rust belt to PWM. Did not see that coming. https://hub.united.com/2021-03-25-united-airlines-adds-new-direct-flights-to-coastal-vacation-destinations-starting-memorial-day-weekend-2651205573.html Very weird. Jump to postNo indication whether PWM-MSP is seasonal or year round. Anyone know?? An A319 seems like a lot of lift for that route.
Jump to postLooking ahead through January, It seems like AA has made PWM-ORD year round. Single daily trip with an E-175. Even with the pandemic, that route seemed destined to be made year-round eventually.
Jump to postPWM-MIA is quite a haul on a regional jet. That may be one of the longest RJ fights in the country!
A bit disappointed it isn't using main line equipment but in this market any new service is a miracle.
DL has used a 752 for PWM-ATL this week. First time a passenger 757 has come to Portland in almost 20 years. Where are you seeing this? I show ATL-PWM service resuming this week with 717s and A319s; not showing any 757s on FlightAware or DAL's schedules. https://www.instagram.com/p/CCHtFo5hmrv/ not...

WN schedule extension for BOS, PVD and MHT is pretty thin. There are periods where PVD-FLL/TPA and MHT-TPA are not run daily. MHT/PVD-MDW are both single daily and BWI is 5 daily for both. BOS has no DAL/HOU/IND/CMH/MKE/ATL but it still runs BNA x4 daily which amazes me. What else does WN have from...
Jump to postI noticed that FedEx is pretty much exclusively using the A300 for MEM-PWM now. Anyone know the reason for this upgauge?
Jump to postOn a positive note I see SY has added service to MCO for the winter. Looks like 1x week with a Thurday departure and Sunday arrival. Must be rotating it on the MSP flights as well. Although happy for the service, SY is a weird airline... once a week seasonally? Give me a break... From where? PVD? P...
Jump to postVery surprised that SY'S new MSP-PWM is still bookable.
Jump to postIt's also worth considering that Philadelphia isn't the same kind of international tourism destination as New York, Boston or DC. Each of those cities attract lots of international leisure travelers. Philadelphia isn't nearly as big of a destination for international visitors. It's more of a domesti...
Jump to postLooks like F9 is suspending all of its PWM routes through July.
Jump to postIn non-Covid news, it looks like PWM had a record year in 2019, handling about 2.17 million pax. It's a given that 2019 will be the Jetport's record year for the foreseeable future. Seeing as the summer tourist season will almost certainly be heavily impacted by Covid and the economic downturn... I ...
Jump to postJust wanting to clarify, Delta’s confirmed to be retiring the MD-90 tomorrow? Sending the last ~10 to BYH and none will return to service? Is there an official statement on that or was it internally announced? There's been next to no announcement of it, but there are no MD-90 flights scheduled afte...
Jump to postIn the medium-term, I would expect leisure travel to be dramatically lower throughout the spring and early summer, and slower than normal through late summer and into the fall . A 4-6 month long recession is a foregone conclusion at this point, and it's going to take middle-class leisure travelers a...
Jump to postWith what routes and schedules, though? I'm not sure if the ski destination model would work for BTV like it does for HDN, and maybe the time for WN to come to BTV with their traditional model is long past, if there was ever a time at all. They already approached BTV about flying couple years ago. ...

Jump to postThis may be a bit "out there" but I'm wondering what effect this very mild New England winter will have on loads for F9 and G4 flights from New England to Florida.

Jump to postLooks like DL has been slowly removing MD88-90s from a few New England routes. ATL-BTV / PWM both switch to 73-7 starting in April. PWM has a mix of 73-7 and MD88, through September, although I don't know how much of that schedule is a placeholder. ATL-MHT now seems to be exclusively on the 73-8 (1x...
Jump to postPWM still gets 88's through September. ATL-PWM has been exclusively MD's for a while, but that's changing in April. ATL-PWM is 3x daily for most of the summer and it looks like a mix of MD's and 737/8's
Jump to postPWM has been growing great guns and I really fear a bubble is distorting the market. ULCC growth has been great for PWM, but I already see signs of other airlines backing off. B6 went seasonal and everyone was holding their breath to see if they would even return in summer 2020. For 2021, I could s...
Jump to postPWM predictions for 2020: -uptick in winter boardings due to more AA capacity to CLT/DCA and F9 capacity to Florida - summer numbers largely flat from 2019 despite new routes -SY to MSP will do just well enough to stick around, but won't be a runaway success -AA will make ORD year round -F9 will add...
Jump to postMIflyer12 wrote:Maybe. Looking at a few dates in January, ELP and PWM are now all MD-90s.
Weird time of year to be announcing MIA routes. If they were doing this in July / August, I would imagine a ton of winter seasonal routes to PVD, BUF, BTV, PWM, ALB ect.
Jump to postF9 released their summer 2020 schedule PWM-DEN / RDU / MCO are hanging around as 3x weekly. Surprised RDU made the cut. BTV-DEN / MCO is also back as 3x weekly through the summer.
