Re: Australian Aviation - February 2024

G'day, long time lurker here, I will be taking a ride on one of those B717 in April to Melbourne and back to CFS so a few question... i was wondering when the final scheduled flight of the B717 on the Coffs Harbour to Melbourne will actually happen? I am aware that the A220 will be replacing the B7...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - April 2020

Domestic passenger figures for February have been released by BITRE: https://www.bitre.gov.au/publications/ongoing/domestic_airline_activity-monthly_publications Big decreases across the board, CNS in particular, except for some intra-WA routes. When analysing these figures, remember that February h...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - March 2020

Two things I thought worth sharing... 1. Tomorrow for the first time since the 1989 pilots strike there will be no scheduled passenger services in or out of HBA. The terminal is closed per HBA’s Facebook page. From Monday there will be a single daily JQ service to and from MEL. 2. I heard on the gr...

Agreed. Mount Gambier seems almost inevitable. Burnie, Parkes, Griffith and Grafton are also possibilities IMHO. Perhaps not right now with the fires affecting lots of the surrounding area, but perhaps Merimbula could be a future QF régional port. ZL serve it from both MEL and SYD. On the contrary,...

The other thing I’m kind of curious about is what QF will do when SWZ comes online in a few years. Will the Sydney-London flights via SIN go from there or would they look at opportunities like LGW?
